Services

Medication Management

This is the primary modality that I practice. I am able to prescribe medications to treat the full spectrum of mental health concerns including depression, anxiety, OCD, PTSD, bipolar disorder and schizophrenia. I believe that medications combined with psychotherapy provide the best outcomes and strongly encourage all my clients to regularly engage with a therapist.

Medication Assisted Treatment of Substance Use Disorders

When a client is struggling with substance use disorders, I am able to offer medications that can mitigate cravings and help reinforce their efforts to remain substance free. I come from a harm reduction perspective that meets people where they are on their journey and believes that whilst total cessation of use is likely in a client’s long term best interests, reductions in harmful use might be more realistic and in keeping with a client’s current goals.

Psychotherapy

I offer brief-solution based psychotherapy in conjunction with medication management appointments. My perspective is grounded in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Motivational Interviewing. This is an area of my practice that I am growing and I will be training in Accelerated Resolution Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy during 2019.

It is my sincere hope that all my clients will be engaged in regular psychotherapy and I am able to provide referrals to colleagues who specialize in a variety of mental health challenges and modalities.

Lifestyle Coaching

Mental health is built from the ground up, with good sleep, good nutrition, and supportive relationships being the foundation of a life well lived. Nurse practitioners look at the whole person, and evaluate them from a strengths based perspective. They then build upon those strengths, to facilitate lifestyle changes and help clients make movement towards their goals.

About Me

I am passionate about holistically treating mental health concerns using the full spectrum of medications and lifestyle interventions. I have been a psychiatric nurse since 2013 and a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner since 2018. I have worked in acute and sub acute inpatient units, psychiatric emergency rooms, community mental health outpatient clinics and in private practice.
