Mental Health Support During Life’s Major Hormonal Transitions

Women's mental health can be significantly affected by reproductive and hormonal transitions throughout life. Pregnancy, postpartum recovery, perimenopause, and menopause can all influence mood, anxiety, sleep, concentration, emotional regulation, and overall wellbeing.

Unfortunately, many women are told their symptoms are simply stress, aging, motherhood, or something they need to push through. As a result, they often feel dismissed, unheard, and unsupported while trying to navigate changes that have a real impact on their mental health and daily functioning.

At Compass Psychiatric Wellness, we understand that hormonal transitions can affect psychiatric symptoms in complex ways. We provide psychiatric medication management and mental health support for women experiencing emotional and psychological challenges during these

Our goal is to help women feel informed, supported, and empowered while receiving the care they need to improve their quality of life.

How We Approach Women’s Mental Health

Our providers have specialized training in perinatal prescribing and additional education focused on the relationship between hormonal transitions and mental health. We understand that symptoms such as anxiety, depression, irritability, sleep disruption, emotional overwhelm, and difficulty concentrating can become more noticeable during periods of hormonal change.

While Compass Psychiatric Wellness does not prescribe hormone replacement therapy (HRT), we recognize the important role hormones may play in a woman's overall wellbeing. We work closely with clients to manage psychiatric symptoms while supporting them in accessing appropriate medical care and advocating for their health concerns with other providers when needed.

Our Approach Includes

Support during perimenopause and menopause transitions

Collaboration with primary care providers, OB/GYNs, and specialists

Education about the relationship between hormones and mental health

Individualized treatment plans based on each client's needs and goals

We believe women deserve providers who take their concerns seriously and understand the unique challenges that can arise during reproductive and hormonal transitions.

Pregnancy & Perinatal Mental
Health Mental health symptoms can emerge or worsen during pregnancy. We help women navigate anxiety, depression, mood changes, sleep difficulties, and medication considerations during this important time.

Postpartum Mental Health
The postpartum period can bring significant emotional and psychological changes. We provide support for postpartum depression, postpartum anxiety, overwhelm, emotional adjustment, and ongoing mental health concerns after childbirth.

Perimenopause Mental Health
Perimenopause can affect mood, sleep, anxiety levels, concentration, energy, and emotional regulation. Many women are surprised by the impact these changes can have on daily functioning and overall wellbeing.

Menopause Mental Health
Menopause can contribute to increased anxiety, depression, irritability, sleep disruption, brain fog, and emotional distress. We help women manage psychiatric symptoms while supporting them in understanding the broader factors contributing to their experience.

Hormone-Related Mood Changes
Some women experience significant mood fluctuations associated with hormonal changes throughout different stages of life. We help clients better understand these patterns and develop treatment plans that support emotional stability.
